Families that need help: children, elders and the invisible fatigue

There is a fatigue we rarely talk about. It belongs to those who find themselves, at the same time, raising children and caring for an elderly parent. They call it the 'sandwich generation': squeezed between two needs, never really having a moment for themselves.

To this we add the fatigue of new mothers without a family network nearby, or that of families of people with Down syndrome, who face every day with love but also with tiredness.

A fatigue you cannot see

It is an invisible fatigue because those who live it rarely talk about it. You carry on, you organise, you grit your teeth. But the mental load is constant: appointments, phone calls, worries that leave no room to breathe.

Asking for help is not a defeat. It is an act of intelligence and love, towards others and towards oneself.

Lightening the load, together

In Buona Compagnia does not replace the family: it stands beside it. A trusted presence that keeps grandfather company for a few hours, so that the children can breathe. Someone who brings listening and calm where before there was only rushing.

It is not a medical service, it is a helping hand. A relationship that gives back time, breath and lightness to those who, every day, hold everything together.

If you recognise yourself in these words, know that you are not alone. Let's talk: good company exists for you too.
